For the 11th season now, we will be bringing the Bell Summer Theatre Festival to our audiences once again. Our theatre space is on the grounds of the Bell Homestead National Historic Site and admission to all performances is on a pay-what-you-can basis.

Bell Summer Theatre Festival

2018 season

The Bell Summer Theatre Festival brings historical theatre to a favourite historical sight with fun and mystery in 2018.

The season opener this year is a fun classic as seen through the eyes of a Godmother and a fairy. Cinderella is written by Peter Muir and directed by Victoria Hudson-Muir. This production takes place July 1 at 7pm, July 2 at 4pm, July 6, 7 at 7pm and July 8 at 4 pm 13, 14 at 7pm and 15th at 4pm. 

The Dark Secret of Sherlock Holmes is a classic mystery shrouded in the mists of London.The play reveals the creation of the classic character as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is asked to find Jack the Ripper. Written by Victoria Hudson-Muir and directed by Peter Muir. Taking place on July 27, 28 at 7:30 pm, July 29 at 4pm, August 3, 4 at 7:30pm, August 10, 11 at 7:30 pm.

August brings our critically acclaimed play about Brantford's own Lawren Harris. Art of War has been seen at the London Fringe Festival, Glenhyrst Art Gallery and the Sanderson Centre. In this entertaining look at the Birth of the Group of Seven, the audience and a live visual artist interact with the actors. Entertaining and thought provoking theatre suitable for ages seven and up. Performances take place on Aug 17, 18 at 7:30 pm and Aug 19 at 4pm. 

Admission to all performances is on a pay-what-you-can basis.
